ROLE: CORPORATE RECOVERY MANAGER
Organisation: Kroll Associates (Feb 1999 – Oct 2002) and Deloitte (Aug 1993 – Jan 1999)
Lead teams in the management of insolvent companies, establishing short-term trading strategies to create a basis for an on-going viable structure. Reporting directly to the partner, to have responsibility for employment decisions, reporting to creditors (including the appointing creditor), negotiating with creditors to secure on-going trading, and negotiating with prospective purchasers of the business.
Act as sole or lead manager on assignments to investigate the viability of companies; assisting banks and other lending institutions in decision-making processes regarding new or ongoing facilities.
Develop active networks of work and service providers, establishing mutually beneficial relationships to secure new work as well as trustworthy and reliable service providers who could act responsively and provide a high quality input to projects.
Key Achievements:
The successful trading and sale of a range of businesses as going concerns. I was never involved in a receivership or administration that did not conclude with the successful sale of an on-going business.
Mentoring graduates, assisting them in applying skills in a recovery and reorganisation setting; ensuring that they received support throughout their exams, and introducing them at an early stage to the importance and skills required for establishing a network capable of providing both new work and the services required to deliver successful outcomes to clients.
